Adding Asian flavor to outdoor cooking

Tangerine Farm in Jeju Island, South Korea

There is something about picking your own food off a tree. In Jeju Island, you cannot and should not miss picking your own tangerines if you’re there in season (Oct to Feb). These tangerines are like GOLD for Korean locals. When I stepped foot in Jeju Airport, I recall I saw a bunch of Korean women with bags of these orange goodies heading back to Seoul. I knew I had to at least try them!

Ok the search: I’m going to be honest, it felt like a chore to search for the perfect tangerine farm. Some farms were only open for a few hours whereas others were open pretty much until sunset. I was on KakaoMap app and searched for tangerine farms and found a few with great reviews. Found one that was open and looked beautiful. The locals apparently can find tangerines for very cheap or even free if you know where to pick. Since I was a tourist, I just visited a farm and paid a small fee ($6) to just pick and eat!

The farm we went to was beautiful. It was nestled on the side of a cliff. The higher elevation you gained, the better the view. As the sun was setting, you could see the ocean glittering in the distance.
